Colin Mawby KSG

Colin Mawby KSG

Saddened at the news of the death of Composer, Conductor and Organist Colin Mawby aged 83. Colin was Choirmaster at Westminster Cathedral for the 6 years I was there from age 7 (and Head Chorister aged 13). He was succeeded at Westminster in 1978 by Stephen Cleobury who has also recently died and went on to become Choirmaster at Kings College Cambridge. Colin was a creator of sublime melody, as per this video of one his motets sung by Westminster Cathedral Choir conducted by him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUBh1egGQvY&feature=emb_logo&fbclid=IwAR3aXcVz6ZekPOgfetq4tILhck7AW_HiUJNTcXZYBTQMFCpOiIlP6C4J6Tg
